Description
Winchester StaBALL 6.5 is a temperature-insensitive BALL POWDER propellant designed to remain stable in extreme-hot and extreme-cold conditions. It is intended for cartridges appropriate to its burn speed and is specifically identified for 6 Creedmoor, 6GT, 6.5 Creedmoor, 7MM-08, and .270 Winchester, among others.
As a BALL POWDER, StaBALL 6.5 provides precise metering. The product information notes that this metering contributes to improved velocity and pressure standard deviations—important considerations for match-grade accuracy. It also provides optimal loading density in suitable cartridges.
Copper fouling reducer additives are included to support longer durations of competition and field shooting without needing to clean the bore as often. Winchester states that, depending on the cartridge, velocity levels obtainable may be 30 to 200 fps greater than other propellants in its class.
StaBALL 6.5 is REACH-compliant and made in the USA. It is available in 1 lb. and 8 lb. containers. Select loads only from published data for the specific cartridge and component combination being used.

Really stable and efficient powder
I’ve grown to love Staball 6.5 after trying it out with several cartridges around the 308-6.5 Creedmoor size. When I pair it with a 135gr Hornady A-tip in my 6.5 Creedmoor I can get 100-150 fps faster than other powders, tight groups at 100 yards and consistent hits out at distance. Really great stuff.

Staball powder
Worked well for my 416 Rem. Groups were not quite as tight as my H4350 load

StaBall 6.5
Used in both .270 and .30-06. At max loads for each, shot 1-hole groups of 5 at 200yds measured. Velocities were consistently 100 fps higher than my previous loads using IMR 4064 with no signs of excessive pressure. Both guns are rebarreled 1903A3s. My observer stated he did not think the new loads had as much report as my old loads, also

Staball 6.5

StaBall Performance
I have a Savage 12FV in 6.5 Creedmoor with a nice piece of glass on board. I found my handloads with Win 748 and 120gr PPU OTM bullets was a solid 5 shot .5moa shooter, couldn't be happier. With the component shortage I was looking for powder and found StaBall 6.5. It looked like an almost universal powder so I grabbed a couple pounds. It worked great in my 270 Axis shooting just sub-moa groups, 308 was the same in my Remington 700 so I loaded it up in 6.5 Cm for my 12FV for a ladder test. With a mid-load of StaBall 6.5 and those cheap 120 grainers at almost 2900fps my second 5 shot group went into a .370" group at 100 yards leaving a ragged hole. Needless to say I buy the 8 lb. jugs now and it's my "go to" powder for everything I load.

270 and 30/06
Shoots good in both of these calibers. 130 gr. in the 270 in Remington 700 I'm getting 3/4" at 100 yards. The only thing I dislike about it is the muzzle flash. Almost a foot or so in my rifle. Shoots good in the 30/ 06 in Winchester 70 carbine with both 165 gr and 180 gr loads. I'm getting 1/2" groups at 100 yards.
