Product Overview

Winchester® StaBALL™ 6.5 is the world’s first temperature-insensitive BALL® Powder, stable in extreme-hot or -cold conditions. It provides optimal loading density in cartridges appropriate for the burn speed, which is ideal for 6 Creedmoor, 6GT, 6.5 Creedmoor, 7MM-08, 270 Winchester and many more. Typical of a ball powder, precise metering contributes to improved velocity and pressure standard deviations, ingredients that are paramount to match grade accuracy! This REACH-compliant, “environmentally green” propellant has copper fouling reducer additives, meaning longer durations of competition and field shooting without having to clean the bore. Precision accuracy throughout the match! Velocity levels obtainable, depending on the cartridge, are 30-200 fps greater than other propellants in its class. Stability, Precision and Speed, says Winchester StaBALL 6.5 is the “Best of the Best”!

Made in the USA.

Available in 1 lb. and 8 lb. containers.

One of the other reviewers stated it would not work well for him. And to that point I have a high dollar rifle that hates STaBall ,will not shoot anything well with it. Have two others that are sub MOA without any issues. Its like any other powder, some rifles will like it, some won't. But I've found that you need to get near max load for the magic to happen. it meters great, and in most of my rifles that are in the usage range for it ,it performs well.

I did a complete work up for my 6.5 creedmoor with Hornady brass br-2 primers 130 vld hunters and ended up with inch 3/8 group's at 800 yards and it's repeatable not to mention 3170 fps with 135 a tips before pressure sines I'm a fan!!!

Did they even test this stuff?

You can get good speed with it but its SD is horrible. This is across multiple platforms including, 6.5CM, 300 WSM, 308, and my 6.5*284NM. Just seems like temp insensitivity wouldn't really matter as a marketing ploy if it consistently underperforms. It is also difficult to find any node where you can work in. This is verified across two separate Chronographs.

Working up the ladder to find the load i wanted was so easy. This powder produces dependable shot after shot accuracy through my 6.5 Creedmoor. In all four seasons the accuracy is still there with my pet handload.

I’m really liking the StaBall. I need to shoot it more to get my final thoughts but so far it’s easy to load and handle
