Product Overview

Varget is an extruded propellant in the Hodgdon line of Extreme series of powders. Varget features small, extruded grains for uniform metering, is insensitive to hot and cold temperatures and produces higher energy for improved velocities over other powders in its burning-speed class.

The powder ignites quickly and burns clean, translating into superb accuracy, higher scores and more clean, one-shot kills.

Varget is the perfect powder for shooting the 223 Remington with heavy bullets in competitive matches. Outstanding performance and velocity can be obtained in such popular cartridges as the 22-250 Remington, 308 Winchester, 30-06, 375 H&H and many more.

Made in Australia.

Available in 1 lb. and 8 lb. containers.

I reload and shoot all year long. This powder is the most consistent powder I've used, From 20 degree weather up to 110 degree weather. A real unicorn.

Varget is an extremely versatile powder. I use it for 223/556, and 22-250, and have been very satisfied so far . I'm going to try it for some different loads in 270 Winchester .

Good results in .223, .308 Win and .30-'06. Glad I bought a large can before things got tight.

40 years of reloading and this is the only powder I will use for my .223 REM. Clean and the best I have found.

    Varget, One great powder!!

Posted by Bill Haas on Dec 7th 2020

I shoot Varget in my NRA F Class rifle, the accuracy and velocity consistency is second to NONE! I have been able to get the velocity standard deviation down to single digits. People have said that I beat there scores on the reloading bench. Varget is a key part of that!

    Excellent for AR15

Posted by Keith Dooley on Dec 5th 2020

Loaded four different combinations of powders/charges with 64 grain .224 Sierra Gamechanger bullets to build a round for my AR. CMV 10.5" barrel, 1:7 twist, basic A2 flash hider. I started with the Varget rounds and I'm glad I did. The third set of five was 64.1 grains and was .80 MOA 100 yards, 2260 fps. I loaded five confirmation rounds and they were .75 MOA 100 yards. Outstanding results with Varget!! Never heard of or been able to build a round this quickly. I'll be using Varget to build rounds for my other AR's.
