Product Overview
Varget is an extruded propellant in the Hodgdon line of Extreme series of powders. Varget features small, extruded grains for uniform metering, is insensitive to hot and cold temperatures and produces higher energy for improved velocities over other powders in its burning-speed class.
The powder ignites quickly and burns clean, translating into superb accuracy, higher scores and more clean, one-shot kills.
Varget is the perfect powder for shooting the 223 Remington with heavy bullets in competitive matches. Outstanding performance and velocity can be obtained in such popular cartridges as the 22-250 Remington, 308 Winchester, 30-06, 375 H&H and many more.
Available in 1 lb. and 8 lb. containers.

5 Great for 6GT

Great powder and fast shipping and great customer service when ordering from Hodgdon. In the last year, it’s been a challenge to locate reloading supplies. But I’ve always had luck with Hodgdons. Thank you!

5 Accurate Powder

Noticeable accuracy right out of the gate even without getting a chance to fine tune the load. Using .308win. 168grn BTHP. However be warned that the powder does meter poorly in a charge master, 0.2 grains off every 3rd charge or so.

Varget is my fastest loading and best powder I use. I have a V4 a and d trickler which works perfectly with varget. I only buy varget for consistency of burn and accuracy to the target
