Product Overview

Varget is an extruded propellant in the Hodgdon line of Extreme series of powders. Varget features small, extruded grains for uniform metering, is insensitive to hot and cold temperatures and produces higher energy for improved velocities over other powders in its burning-speed class.

The powder ignites quickly and burns clean, translating into superb accuracy, higher scores and more clean, one-shot kills.

Varget is the perfect powder for shooting the 223 Remington with heavy bullets in competitive matches. Outstanding performance and velocity can be obtained in such popular cartridges as the 22-250 Remington, 308 Winchester, 30-06, 375 H&H and many more.

Made in Australia.

Available in 1 lb. and 8 lb. containers.

As most alreaAy know, this powder is the gold standard for many accuracy loads in the 6 BR through the 6 Dasher and even the .308. I just wish there was more available to meet the growing demand.

It's no surprise to anyone I'm sure that a 6br likes varget. My experience has been the same. Good accuracy and precision with very good velocity.

    Varget vs H4350

Posted by Rick LeMonnier on May 23rd 2022

Both are consistent and outstanding powder. I shoot a lot and have burned a lot more 4350 in my 6.5 creedmoor. Recently I built a 6GT and used both Varget and H4350. The only issues I have are availability. But both are excellent powder!

    Varget

Posted by Kim Campbell on May 20th 2022

I have used Varget for over 5 years. It has been the very best powder for my rifle and loads among the several I have tried (TAC, CFE223, IMR4064, IMR4895, Accurate 2520). In my Ruger American .223, I have shot 4 1/3MOA groups (one of those 1/4 MOA). I my Remington 700, I routinely shoot less than 1/2 MOA. Not bad for stock guns! The internet shooters seems to agree; see Ultimate Roloader with Gavin Toobe). Great powder. Do your ladder loads and see for yourself if this works as well as I has for me.

Excellent powder for 22-50 and 308 calibers. Excellent accuracy with most grain bullets in these calibers.
