4895 is a versatile rifle powder with origins in the 30-06 cartridge as a military powder. This is a historic powder for Hodgdon as it was the first powder sold by our founder, Bruce “B.E.” Hodgdon to the reloading public.
As a member of the Extreme line of extruded powder, this powder is a good solution for 30-06, 17 Remington, 250-3000 Savage, 308 Winchester and 458 Winchester, to name just a few. It is amazingly accurate in every cartridge where it is listed in our data.
Made in Australia.
Available in 1 lb. and 8 lb. containers.

I use this powder for reduced (60%) loads from 110gr through 180gr for my CZ550 American in .30-06.

One of the best powders for 6br norma for spectacular groups also I use it for my 223 with great success

I get the 1/2" groups, the best of any load in my pre-64 Model 70 .30-06, when combine H4895 with the 150 gn Barnes TTSXBT. Terrific combination!

H4895 is a great powder, I use it often for many loads. I'm glad to see it being available again even with it's price increase.

H4895 - Highly recommended for 308 with 168-176gr. bullets in 20" barrel: I have experienced low SDs (less then 5 fps on average using Lapua brass), accuracy (sub-MOA 3 shot groups in my long stroke gas gas piston rifle, sometimes less then .5 MOA at 100 meters) and velocity (2638 fps for 176 gr. A-tips and 2670 for for 168 TMKs). Hodgdon, please, please double or triple production so I can get some more and other shooters can also benefit from this great temp. stable powder.
