5 Great Powder for heavy 30-06
Posted by Ashley Rooney on Jun 6th 2022
I bought this powder without doing the requisite research and was using bullets that were too light (180 gr). I did some experimenting and found that in my Howa 1500, I can use a 220 grain bullet with 52.4gr of IMR-4831 and a magnum rifle primer and it works fantastic (1/4 - 3/8" groups at 100 yards)

Works great in my 7mm Rem Mag with 160gr bullets. Thanks to Hodgdon for selling powder online instead of having to buy from scalpers.
