This magnum, extruded powder was designed expressly for the really large overbored cartridges such as the 7mm Remington Ultra Magnum, 300 Remington Ultra Magnum, 30-378 Weatherby Magnum, etc. Retumbo adds 40-100 fps more velocity to these cartridges when compared to other normal magnum powders.
In addition, it is an Extreme Powder, making it perfect for big game hunting under all types of conditions.

Hodgdon Retumbo
Compared to H1000 and N570, .300 Norma Mag. Borden Bigfoot action, Brux barrel(Heavy Varmint). Retumbo has been the most consistent and accurate powder for my rifle setup. Love this stuff!

Retumbo Rifle Powder
I loaded the 300 Remington Ultra Mag case with the Berger 215 grain Hybrid target bullet and Hodgdon Retumbo Powder and worked up a load that produced an ES of 6.6 fps and a SD of 2.7 fps which produced good accuracy and velocity. This is a fantastic powder that performs very well with magnum loads. Very happy with it. Thank you Hodgdon for making this available through your web site.

I use this powder for my 338 Lapua
I used one grain under Max for the type of bullet I was using and was very pleased with the results at 200 yards.

Retumbo
I purchased Retumbo because it is a single base powder. Because of past usage of single base powders under varying weather conditions. Not being able to purchase primers I want for a specific powder, like double base and sphere powder specifically I like using a hotter primer and most people should. Another consideration is barrel length. The Retumbo will be used in a 7mm rm 24" inch barrel with a 162 gr projectile.

This is an excellent powder for 300PRC. It produced excellent accuracy and low Es and SD and excellent velocity. I was able to get 3020fps with 230 A-tips.
