Description
This spherical propellant yields top velocities in many cartridges such as the 204 Ruger, 223 Remington/5.56mm NATO, 22-250 Remington and the 308 Winchester/7.62mm NATO, plus many, many more.
CFE 223 contains our Copper Fouling Eraser ingredient, originally used in military propellant, which greatly deters copper fouling and contributes to longer periods of top accuracy with less barrel cleaning time.
Being a spherical powder, metering is superbly accurate.
Made in the USA.
Available in 1 lb. and 8 lb. containers.

I got a very good group that I want to keep very happy with CFE223.

Powder
This powder works great in my Grendel with 123 grain bullets. Good velocity low deviations.

CFE 223
I was introduced to CFE223 several years ago, and use it exclusively for reloading .308 for my Ruger Precision Rifle and Howa 1500. The powder burns clean and I get absolutely great results from it. It's been a little hard to find during the pandemic, but fortunately Hogddon had some in stock and I was able to stock back up - which is great because it means more shooting for me! I also use it for reloading .223, but I have been shooting less .223 over the past year.

CFE 223 Groupings
Historically Benchmark (40-50 gr) and Varget (55 gr) have been my favorite powders for the 223. CFE 223 have filled a nice niche and spits out nice groups— however they shoot about an inch lower than the other loads. Not interchangeable

Varmint rounds
My new Savage Axis ll in 270 Win shot so well I had to try my hand in the varmint fields. I had some CFE 223 and picked up some Sierra 90gr. hollow points. After sight in a 300 yards shooting very sub moa I was banging those woodchucks with my best shot at around (using a golf rangefinder) 450 yards. Those little suckers paid a high price that day and clean up was just a few passes with a bore snake. Very happy.

CFE223
great powder for 223 reloads. It was quite costly after the hazmat and shipping but it was my birthday so I deserved to get some.

CFE 223
Would have been five stars; however, there are certain temperature variations. I like: Burn rate enabling full cases Low pressures Capability concerning projectile velocity Burns Clean
